Throughout 2023, Three Rivers Bexley's Beneath the Pavement, The Marshes programme presented artists' projects, creative workshops and walks responding to the unique habitats of Bexley’s marshes: foreshores, wetlands, woods & urban gardens.
This map (designed to be pulled out of the newspaper, folded down and slipped in your pocket) presents a route to take in each of these sites, following existing trails and footpaths. It also reinterprets the 1769 Andrews Drury & Herbert Map, to highlight the changing landscape of Crossness & Erith Marshes. The illustrative icons (introduced in the key) indicate where each of the activities took place.
The project was thoughtfully produced by Pierce Eldridge and the newspaper designed by Caitlin McLoughlin.
